Walnuts Chandler
Height: 2 m
The Chandler walnut, originating from the United States, is today considered one of the most productive and sought-after walnut varieties in commercial and home production worldwide. It is a late-flowering variety, which makes it suitable for planting in areas with a higher risk of late spring frosts. The Chandler walnut tree is moderately vigorous, with a well-developed, upright crown, which makes maintenance, pruning and harvesting easier.

The fruits are large to very large, with a smooth, thin, easily cracked, oval shell. The kernel is light yellow, clean, and easily removed whole. It is known for its exceptionally high yield, with a large number of nuts on both terminal and lateral buds. Precisely because of this lateral bearing, the variety has more fruiting points per tree compared with traditional varieties. Chandler shows good disease resistance, including bacterial blight and anthracnose, when properly maintained. It thrives in different types of soil, but gives the best results on fertile, deep and well-drained soils, with regular irrigation.
